Savannah Comstock
Artist Statement
As I've slowly made the transition from adolescence to adult, I have had to confront my personal experiences with self rejection, shame and guilt, that have manifested not only in my lifetime, but something that has transcended generations. I strive to show the psychological wounds that continue to go unnoticed in childhood that we take through to our adulthood. Through my paintings, I reflect on past memories and experiences and convey them as a child would interpret them. The animated world of adolescence is something I continually convey with my vibrant colors and imaginative world building, displaying them as a homage to childhood ignorance.
