Artist Statement

For most of my childhood I have struggled with connecting with my peers. This abundance of isolation at such a crucial developmental state, left me with an empty sense of purpose and meaning to who I am and what I want to pursue in life. As I have slowly made the transformation from adolescence to adulthood I have had to confront my experiences with self rejection, shame and guilt, that have manifested not only in my lifetime, but something that has transcended generations. As the loneliness epidemic continues, I strive to show the psychological wounds that continue to go unnoticed in childhood that we take through to our adulthood. Through my work I attempt to recognize inherited trauma and connect to others who may share something similar.
